Thought For The Day 2/11/09

If you read the papers we are all dipped in #$%^! All of us are being forced into reacting to and being awakened from a deep sleep-fiscal responsibility.

I know it is unfair to make a blanket statement…I’m sure there are those among us who have taken care of bidness. Regardless, we are all in it together now.

I look at this like your spouse informing you they want a divorce that you don’t want. The end result is that you are being forced to change regardless of what you might think at the time.

The key I believe is to look for the opportunity. It is a truism that “in chaos lies great opportunity”. We’ve all got the chaos, the fear and all the rest. Now, as individuals, we need to focus on where the opportunity lies.

It reminds me of a story:

Two boys were walking down the street and come upon some horse dung. One boy says: “Look out! Don’t step in that!” He turned to the other boy who was smiling. He asked him: “Why are you smiling? The other boy replied: “There’s got to be a pony around here somewhere.”

My point is this: even though we are sometimes forced to adapt to circumstances we haven’t chosen we all have the power to choose how we deal with it…what our attitude will be.

At times like these community and relationships are the glue that binds us together.

Embrace the change, reach out to your friends, and remember there is a pony out there somewhere.

Change is some of the hardest things we go through in life, but you seem to cope quite well. What’s your secret? I must be those quick hands… amazing video!

I’ve learned through painful trial and error that nothing in life is static. We are all changing every day. The world around us is changing every day. If we don’t acknowledge this simple fact we are stuck in the past-which means we are not living and not experiencing the life we are blessed to be living.
